GHACCO SIGNS CONTRACT WITH ENI GHANA TO IMPLEMENT THE ENI-WORLD BANK RURAL CLEAN COOKING PROJECT IN 10 COMMUNITIES IN ELEMEBELLE DISTRICT

GHACCO will be implementing the Rural Clean Cooking Project upon signing a contract with ENI-World Bank to create access to rural woodfuel stoves in Ellembelle District
The Rural Clean Cooking Pilot Project is primarily designed to promote access to improved domestic woodfuel cookstoves, as a way of helping to reduce exposure to unhealthy wood-smoke and deforestation in rural communities in Ghana.
The project will be implemented in ten (10) coastal communities, namely Atuabo, Bakanta, Ngalekye, Sanzule (including Anwolakrom fishing area), Krisan, Eikwe, Anokyi, Ngalekpole, Asemda and Baku in Ellembelle District of the Western region.
The project activities includes the conduct of a market and business assessment, to identify the most suitable domestic woodfuel cookstove design and private sector-led business model, ensuring the local availability and affordability of clean cooking devices in the local communities.
