The Ghana Alliance for Clean Cooking has elected new National Executive Board at its Annual General Meeting held on 30th January 2025 at the Ruby Kay hotel in Accra. This was to ensure good governance, transparency and accountability in line with the values of the Organization and its constitutional requirements. Mr. Lukumanu Mohammed, the Chief Executive Officer conducted the meeting with Ms Adwoa Sey, the former Chairperson.

Ms Adwoa Sey, gave the opening speech, and outlined initiatives and interventions implemented under her tenure of office, including reviewing and documenting strategic governance documents of GHACCO as well as driving training for manufacturers, market activation and promoting adoption of improved cookstoves in Ghana, particularly in the Western region with support from ENI and the World Bank. She also outlined efforts to facilitate policy engagement with the Ministry of Energy and Energy Commission in the development of the Ghana Clean Cooking Strategy. She highlighted initiatives to identify gaps within the clean cooking sector and assess financing to strengthen the capacity of GHACCO in partnership with the World Bank. She underscored smooth cooperation with the Ministries and government agencies to drive policy, standards and enhance enabling environment for clean cooking development in Ghana as well as international partnerships to drive investments into the sector. The Auditor of the Alliance also read the audit report to the members of the general assembly for adoption. Whiles Mr Lukuman outlined the action plan for the 2025 strategic year. Solidarity messages was given by Mr Aaron Nyarkotey of Burn Design Labs, Mrs Adelaide of Ghana Standards Authority and representative from the Ghana Petroleum Authority.




After a rigorous voting process, the following National Executives were elected into office. Madam Sarah Naa Dedei Agbey, as Chairperson, Mr. Lovans Owusu-Takyi as Vice Chair, Mrs. Lily Versta Nyarko as Secretary, Mrs. Gloria Ojo Johnson as Financial Secretary, Mr. Bismark Asamoah Asante as Clean Cookstoves manufacturers and distributors representative, Mr Kenneth Nana Amoateng as representatives of End-user groups, Mrs. Selina Ofosu Appiah as representative of Fuel Producers and distributors, Mrs Georgina Koomson as representative of women enterprises, and Mr Iddi Abdulai Alhassan as representative of NGOs/CSOs and Development Partners.
After an acceptance speech by the the Chairperson, a handing over ceremony was done by the former Chair, Ms Adwoa Sey to the incoming Chair, Madam Sarah Naa Dedei Agbey.
